Fishing liason coordinators appointed

Forewind has appointed two consultancies to handle the role of Fishing Liaison Coordinator (FLC), one to deal with the fishing industry and the other with relevant governmental and regulatory stakeholders.

Precision Marine Survey Limited (PMSL), based in Hull, will advise and support the liaison activities with national and international fisheries organisations, individual fishermen and recreational fisheries. They will also maintain regular and routine contact with fishermen and their representative organisations, to ensure that Forewind fulfils its stakeholder engagement obligations to the fisheries industry. PMSL’s first activity will be to develop the fisheries liaison strategy in liaison with stakeholders.

Brown & May Marine (BMM), from Eye in Suffolk, will advise and support the liaison activities with national governmental and statutory organisations, as well as their international equivalents, to reach agreement on the approaches taken for the necessary impact assessments, surveys and level of engagement that will be undertaken as part of the production of Environmental Statements.

Both consultancies began in their roles on July 1 and will continue until the end of Forewind’s development activities on Dogger Bank, anticipated to be around 2015.

Any enquiries about the PMSL role should be directed to Nigel Proctor on [email protected] and on BMM’s work to Josephine Henniker-Major on [email protected].
