Request for met mast expression of interest issued

Forewind, development partner for the Dogger Bank zone, has issued a request for expressions of interest (EOI) from contractors that would like to be considered for the design, fabrication, certification, installation and commissioning of meteorological masts.

Dogger Bank is located in the North Sea, some 125 to 290 km from the East Yorkshire coast, and Forewind is looking for meteorological masts at one or two locations on the site.

The met mast is likely to have a top instrument height of 100m above mean sea level and water depths are expected to be some 20 to 30 metres. Servicing will be an important design consideration and contractors capable of demonstrating a strong commitment to HSE and quality management will be at an advantage.

The mast will have a certified working life of more than five years.

The return deadline for expressions of interest is noon on Wednesday, 9 June 2010. It is anticipated that the invitation to tender will be sent out in July 2010 with the installation of the first mast in May 2011.
