Forewind

This publication outlines the progress we have made with the development of the Dogger Bank Zone in the 12 month period from May 2011 until June 2012.

Tranche B is an area of approximately 1,500km², in the south east of the zone. It was defined using information collected in a series of stakeholder workshops and discussions, and following an assessment of the relevant technical, environmental and commercial considerations associated with offshore wind farm project delivery and operation.

This is the first edition of the Forewind newsletter which gives an overview of all current activity related to the Dogger Bank development.

This Zonal characterisation document contains both the offshore and onshore volumes. This document is the second version and will further evolve throughout the Zone Appraisal and Planning (ZAP) phase until a final version is produced. It will continue to inform the development of the Dogger Bank Zone.

Forewind, developer of the Dogger Bank Zone, has published its first annual review, covering the consortium’s initial 18 months of activity since being awarded the offshore wind development rights for largest of the Round 3 zones by The Crown Estate.

This ZoC Document contains both the offshore and onshore volumes. This document is an interim version of the ZoC and will evolve throughout the Zone Appraisal and Planning (ZAP) phase. It will continue to inform the development of Project One and future projects.

Tranche A is an area of 2000 km2 and lies in the south west section of the Dogger Bank zone. Forewind will seek to develop three similar sized offshore wind farm projects of up to 1.4GW each within this area. It was chosen after stakeholder consultations, consideration of safety and examinations of environmental and consenting issues related to the zone
