Forewind Annual Review for 2015 published

Forewind has today published its latest annual review, which summarises the progress made by the organisation during the period from May 2014 until December 2015.

With the title “Gaining consents for the Dogger Bank projects” the publication reviews the past 18 months, during which time Forewind received development consent for an impressive 4.8 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind capacity at Dogger Bank.

General Manager Tarald Gjerde said: "That is almost equal to all the offshore wind capacity currently in operation in UK waters, so represents a huge achievement."

The document, Forewind's fifth annual review, is a snapshot of the key achievements and activities over the period, covering the consents and operational work as well as health & safety, specifically in relation to the two Dogger Bank meteorological masts, and community engagement.

"It also looks to the future, where there is still much work to be done to ensure the projects are progressed to the stage they will be able to contribute significantly to the UK’s new and low carbon energy supply," he added.
